The exhibition “A Sea of Allowed Lust” was one of the exhibitions organized in Antwerp (B) at the occasion of Antwerp European Capital of the Book in 2004-2005. Its subject was the “Highlights of Monastery Libraries in the province of Antwerp”. The caption of the exhibition comes from a poem by a former father librarian, Godefridus Bouvaert, who considered the monastery library as “A Sea of Allowed Lust”.

For more than a year we worked together with the all exhibition parties, the province of Antwerp, the University of Antwerp, the lending Monasteries and all technical and other services involved. We were responsible for all preventive conservation measures, for handling and transport, book cradle design and security, training the attending staff and hands-on mounting of the exhibition.
